Question: Who is entitled to a request for flexible working arrangements?
Answer:Requests for flexible working arrangements are allowed for by National Employment Standards. There are a number of requirements for particular employees to request flexible working arrangements, for example, the employee must be employed for more than 12 months or are a long term casual employee, are a parent or carer, are disabled, older than 55 years or violence is being experienced by the employee or a member of the employees’ family. The request can be made in a formal letter and then a discussion will be had between the employee and the employer.
