Meet TernX: a leading Australian startup making family travel stress-free

In 2019, Tack Lee and HoePing Lo, proud parents of two, assembled a team of industry experts to bring to life the world’s first carry-on luggage stroller: TernX.

TernX’s mission is to simplify family travel and make the experience of traveling with kids stress-free. They achieve this through their innovative and forward-thinking products designed with families in mind.

Their flagship product, the TernX Carry On, is a premium carry-on luggage that seamlessly transforms into a sleek and functional travel stroller. Its versatility and practicality have earned it numerous prestigious international design awards, solidifying its status and unwavering commitment to excellence as an innovative solution for modern families on the move. Notably, it was even recognized as one of TIME’s best inventions of the year.

TernX is one of LegalVision’s valued startup clients, so we have asked Tack Lee a few questions to get to know him better. Read on to find out more.

1. What is the biggest challenge facing your business right now?

As a startup aiming to grow and solidify our presence as a reputable brand in a global market, we encounter two challenges: securing funding and executing impactful marketing strategies. Funding for expanding operations and product development, and effective marketing for enhancing visibility.

2. When hiring, what is the number one interview question you always ask?

What inspired you to apply for this position?

3. What are the latest developments in your industry and how is your business preparing for them?

In an ever-evolving industry, advancements in design, technology, and materials are shaping the landscape. A notable trend is the rise of lightweight and eco-friendly strollers, driven by consumer concerns about the environmental impact of baby products. To stay ahead, we have enlisted industry experts to incorporate these demands into our designs and develop a complementary tech (app) that enhances the functionality of our products.

4. What do you do when you’re not working?

Play with the kids! 🙂

5. What’s one book, podcast, or TV show you’d recommend to other business owners?

Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill

6. What’s one piece of tech or app that’s changed how you work?

Thanks to communication platforms like Zoom, we have been able to bridge the distance between our manufacturers, designers, and consultants, enabling us to connect and communicate seamlessly. This has allowed us to connect and communicate more effectively, despite being geographically dispersed. As a result, we have experienced enhanced collaboration, efficient coordination, and timely meetings, all contributing to the success of our endeavors.
