Question: Do I have to respond to a request for flexible working arrangements?
Answer:If an employee requests flexible working arrangements, the employer and employee should meet to discuss the request and see whether they can come to an arrangement. The employee should be given the opportunity to explain their requests, their reasons and how the working arrangement will be structured. After three weeks the employer is required to respond. If the employer refuses the request then they should set out their reasons for the denial of the request.
