Question: What are the restrictions on gambling advertisements?
Answer:Gambling advertisements are subject to a variety of legal frameworks including codes and regulations. These include the Australian Association of National Advertisers Code of Ethics, the Interactive Gambling Act 2001 and other state/territory regulations. Some restrictions include advertisements which misrepresent the likelihood of winning, conveys the impression that gambling is a reasonable way to solve financial problems or are aimed at certain classes of people or minors. All gambling advertisements must also include prescribed responsible gambling messages and must restrict certain sounds or images, such as coins hitting a tray, or the sound of a jackpot win.
