New Privacy Policy

What is a Privacy Policy?

A Privacy Policy states how a business will deal with personal information. Our new Privacy Policy covers personal information collected on the website and directly by the business.

Our Privacy Policy was written by senior Australian lawyers to comply with the current Privacy Act 1988 and the amendments which came into effect on 12thMarch 2014.

It can be used by any business that collects personal information through a website or in the business, e.g. via a contact us form or sign-up sheet.

Why do I need it?

If the Privacy Act applies to your business, you must have a Privacy Policy. If you fail to comply, you face fines of up to $1.7 million for companies, or $340,000 for entities that are not companies (including individuals) for serious or repeated breaches of the Privacy Act.

It is prudent for every business that collects personal information to have a Privacy Policy to explain to customers how they collect, use, disclose and store it, and the customer’s rights.
