8 MAY 2017 (SYDNEY): LegalVision is expanding its national footprint with the opening of an office in Brisbane led by a new Practice Leader, Helen Kay. Helen adds more than 15 years of experience working in corporate and commercial law, including as an Senior Solicitor at Herbert Smith Freehills and as a Senior Associate at Allens.
The Brisbane office will further strengthen the NewLaw firm’s east coast presence, having opened an office in Melbourne in early 2016. With an active startup ecosystem and booming SME sector, the establishment of the new office will help Queenslanders more easily access legal services through LegalVision’s innovative model.
“Queensland is one of our most important markets so expansion was a natural fit. The state is exploding with startups and SMEs, and many of our enterprise clients are located in Brisbane. In particular, the city’s $5 million investment into innovation and the Brisbane 2022 New World City Action Plan brings exciting opportunity for collaboration and partnerships.” said Lachlan McKnight, CEO at LegalVision.
“While our tech-driven model allows us to assist clients all across Australia, the new office will be key in meeting the demand of our growing client base. Helen will be an invaluable addition to our team and we look forward to tapping into her experience and insight.”
Helen brings an entrepreneurial attitude to LegalVision, having run her own legal practice in Perth that won multiple awards for legal innovation. Most recently, Helen built her own practice area as the Head of Corporate & Commercial at Panetta McGrath lawyers.
